Ecole Bilingue Extended Day

EXTENDED DAY

Our Extended Day program operates from 3:30–6:00 p.m., and provides supervision for children during recesses and between 7:30–8:15 a.m. In the afternoons, a healthy snack is served and a variety of activities are organized: outdoor play, board games, and arts and crafts. For children in PK and MK, Extended Day care is held in the Maternelle building and yard, and offers unstructured play as well as stories, games, and creative activities. Extended Day fees for 20092010 have been set at $9.12/hour. Drop-in care is available.

After-school classes

EB offers a wide range of after-school enrichment classes. Class offerings vary by semester and include ballet, Mad Science, chess, fencing, drumming and cooking. A full list of classes and fees is published every September, January, and April.

Etude

Etude is offered three days per week, and provides students with a quiet setting to work on homework. French-speaking faculty members supervise groups of students and are available to answer questions. (They do not conduct individual tutoring.) Students in grades five through eight automatically go to Etude; students in grades one through four must sign up at the beginning of the semester. Etude is billed at the same rate as Extended Day care ($9.12/hour for 2009–2010)

Vacation camps

Vacation camps operate during most school vacations. In addition to a full day of crafts, games, and playtime, these camps always include a field trip to a point of local interest. Recent trips have included a pumpkin patch, the Marine Mammal Center, and the California Academy of Sciences. We also offer camps during summer break.
