FRENCH IMMERSION SUMMER CAMP
July 26 - August 13, 2010
Ecole Bilingue de Berkeley's full immersion French summer camp offers French instruction to all Bay Area children entering preschool through kindergarten (minimum age: 3.5), as well as to current EB students entering MK through 5th grade. Children will learn and/or expand their French skills in an exciting, fun, engaging atmosphere on our campus in West Berkeley. No previous knowledge of French is necessary!
What is the EB Summer Camp Philosophy?
We understand that kids want to have fun during the summer. That's why we offer a diverse program that seamlessly integrates learning with stimulating arts, games, and sports activities.
How does it work?
EB French Immersion Summer Camp consists of three one-week sessions, each with a different theme. Campers participate in language classes where they engage in fun activities such as arts and crafts, games, cooking, dance and music. In addition, campers take part in specialized thematic activities, go on field trips and have special guests.

Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Extended care: 8:00 - 9:00 a.m.; 3:00 - 6:00 p.m.

$390/week (5% multi-session discount)Free morning care!

Camp Descriptions:
Entering Preschool-Kindergarten
Session 1: Fairytales-Knights and Princesses (July 26 - July 30)
Once upon a time……there was a summer camp where fairytales came to life with pony rides and bouncy castles and knights, princesses, and wizards played all day while learning French. They listened to stories, created beautiful artwork, learned midieval games and mystical magic.
Session 2: Pirate Voyage (Aug. 2 – Aug. 6)
Ahoy mates. Get ready for a swashbuckling time as we set sail on our pirate adventure. We will visit far off lands and go on treasure hunts, meet live pirates, and creatures of the oceans. There will be lots of singing, dance, stories, art, and adventure to be had by all.
Session 3: Pee Wee Olympics (Aug. 9 – Aug. 13)
On your mark, get set, go! It’s time for the Summer Olympics. Events will include soccer, bowling, golf, gymnastics, basketball, and much more! There will be arts and crafts, stories, and other games related to this ancient event. Crowns and trophies will be had by all! All games will be adjusted for age appropriateness.
Entering G1-G5
Session 1: Let the Reality Games Begin!
Get ready for an amazing week of challenges testing your mind, body, and teamwork abilities during our EB reality show competitions! Each day campers will create and participate in our own versions of these popular shows: Amazing Race, Top Chef, Survivor, and Project Runway.
Session 2: Inventors Workshop
Lets create together. During this inspiring week we will be learning all about the process of inventing, designing, and building our own creations. We will build our own ships and/or vehicles, musical instruments, buildings and structures. Campers will visit Urban Ore to find reusable materials and will use additional items like Legos, K’nex, and other creative building materials to create their masterpieces.

Session 3: Junior Olympics
On your mark, get set, go! It’s time for the Summer Olympics. Events will include soccer, golf, basketball, track and field, and much more! There will be arts and crafts and other activities and games related to the history of this ancient event. Medals and trophies will be had by all!
